So winter approaches and Christmas is nearly here. Have you noticed the abundance of angels? They are all around at this time of year: on the Christmas cards, decorations and mentioned in the carols. The angels are near us all year, but make their presence felt more in December.

No doubt you are very busy at the moment, but try to take a few minutes out of your hectic schedule to connect with the angels. Even 5 minutes just sitting quietly without being disturbed. Call the angels to join you. Feel their soft gentle wings surrounding and loving you. Ask the angels to enfold all those in need at this time of year - the homeless, the sick, the lonely and the hungry. Remember the angels can only help if you ask them to. Try to connect with the angels for just a few minutes every day.

On Thursday 22nd December we have the winter solstice: the shortest day and the longest night of the year. After this day more light comes into our lives. It is a time to stop to look back with inner reflection and to look forward to new activity and the return of the sun and the light.

Many ancient cultures honoured this as an important time. Stone monuments throughout the northern hemisphere recognised this and aligned their stones accordingly for example Stonehenge, New grange in Ireland and some of the stone temples on Malta.

This time is not an end or a beginning, but a point on a continuous circle. The old year is coming to a close. Nature and plants have withdrawn and conserve their energy. The New Year (2012) will shortly arrive and rebirth will shortly follow. The next year is the most important spiritually for 26,000 years and a time for us all and our beauty planet, to more up the spiritual ladder. Are you ready?

After the solstice we have Christmas, a time adopted by the Christian churches to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The same period of time - Yule had been celebrated for hundreds of years before the Christian churches. It is a time when amazing energies come to the Earth. Christmas brings with it the Christ Consciousness energy. The energy of Divine Love. This is not an energy only associated with Christians, it is available to all, in the same way that the Buddha Consciousness, Divine wisdom, is also available to all and not just to Buddhists. Try to connect to the Christ Consciousness and be receprive to its energies. Allow Divine Love into your lives and let your heart chakras open, spreading unconditional love to all.
