Day 1: Monday 11th July 2005, London Stanstead airport to Biarritz, south west France

We travelled by air to Biarritz - an uneventful journey, arriving in Biarritz early evening, where we had previously booked into a hotel for the night.

We spent a lovely evening walking around the coast, found an enclosed bay, where we ceremoniously bathed our feet in the sea: marking the beginning of our Camino.

The next time we would observe the sea would be in Finisterra on the north west peninsular of Spain. The end of the world and the end of our journey.
